Please note that the Hudson County Community College Libraries and the College as a whole will be closed Friday, January 3 due to inclement weather. All classes and activities scheduled for Jan. 3 are also cancelled.
The College anticipates reopening on Saturday, January 4 and resuming its regular schedule.
HCCC also provides updates on delayed openings and closings on the college’s Facebook page and Twitter profile, as well as via phone at (201) 714-7100, via radio on WOR 710 AM, WCBS 880 AM, WINS 1010 AM, WVNJ 1160 AM, and WADO 1280 AM, and WNBC-TV and News 12.
The HCCC Libraries have long had ebooks available from a great number of providers including EBSCO, Capstone, and ABC-Clio. When looking through these books, note that each ebook provider treats its books differently — some allow only one person to read it at a time, some only allow users to print a certain number of pages, some require a special app to view it on mobile devices, and some only allow users to view it online. A new option that may be of interest to HCCC students, faculty, and staff is that of Springer eBooks. The Library has more ebooks from Springer than any other provider (over 1000 and counting!), and each Springer ebook allows students, faculty, and staff to read the books online, download chapters of interest, or even get the entire book as a PDF — no special apps or requirement to be online while reading.

One of the most frequent questions HCCC students, faculty, and staff ask is “does the Library offer fax services?” Unfortunately, there is no fax machine available for patron use, but that doesn’t mean you can’t send a fax.
There is no fax machine available, but you can still send a fax with services like FaxZero or MyFax instead.
Instead, you can use the scanner available at either the Main Library or the North Hudson Center to scan your document, then send it online through a service like FaxZero or MyFax, which sends the fax on your behalf.
Services such as FaxZero limit the number of faxes and total pages you can send each day, and include an advertisement with each fax, though they also offer low cost services as well. A list of other services to send free faxes can be found here.
