HCCC’s STEM Club has been working on their drones since early this semester and now they are ready to solder some parts together. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how solder — or want to know what soldering even is — then come to the Makerspace on Nov. 27 at 4:30 PM and let the STEM Club show you how!

Have you ever wanted to write the next great American novel but not sure how to go about it? Do you have ideas, stories, and characters swirling in your head and you really want to jot it down? And perhaps one day it becomes a best selling novel?
November marks the start of National Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMo. In conjunction with the Writing Center (located in J204 at Jersey City and N703-A at North Hudson) weekly write-ins and novel discussions will be held in the Gabert Library Makerspace on Fridays from 12 to 2 PM. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend the sessions.

What does New Jersey, Mexico, and skateboarding have in common?
To be honest, I myself don’t even know! But Prof. Kathleen Smith-Wenning does. On Nov. 7 at 2 PM in the Gabert Library Makerspace, she will be explaining what the history and connection is between these three things. If you’re a skateboarder, a New Jerseyan, a Mexican, or all three at the same time, or just curious like I am, stop on by next week!

P.S. Bringing your skateboard is COMPLETELY optional!
